ESNS announces first artists for its landmark 40th edition
Groningen’s flagship showcase celebrates 40 years with 40 names reflecting Europe’s diversity

Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS), Europe’s leading music showcase festival and conference, has revealed the first 40 artists for its milestone 40th edition, set to take place in Groningen from January 14–17, 2026. Nominated by 32 EBU member radio stations, the selection includes Romania for the first time through Radio România Cultural, and features talent from a total of 34 European countries.
Standout names from the first announcement include Léonie Pernet (FR), Elín Hall (IS), MOIO (IE), Coca Puma (IT), Katarsis (LT), Lenny Monsou and Hiqpy (NL), FIDJU KITXORA (PT), BIJI (SE), Nadia Kadek (GB-ENG), snuggle (DK) and Valeria Stoica (RO/MD). From breakthrough newcomers to buzzworthy live acts, the lineup captures the vibrancy of Europe’s music scene.

With the theme Europe Calling, ESNS 2026 shifts focus from individual countries to a collective cultural movement. At a time of geopolitical tensions, the manifesto underlines music as a unifying force. The first wave reflects Europe’s sonic diversity, spanning genres, languages and cultural roots, from the Arctic North to the Mediterranean and from Central Europe to Eastern Europe.
For four decades, ESNS has been a launchpad for artists who went on to conquer global stages, including Dua Lipa, Fontaines D.C., Sigrid and Altin Gün. In its 40th anniversary year, the festival continues to strengthen its mission of connecting European artists with audiences and industry across borders.

Tickets for ESNS26 go on sale on September 25, when Delegate Pass prices will also increase.
