Joseph Capriati And Gennaro Join Forces On ‘Control’

Joseph Capriati is returning to his Metamorfosi Records imprint with ‘Control’, a new collaboration with fellow Italian producer GENNARO. Landing September 18, the single marks the first time the pair have worked together and Capriati’s second appearance on the label he founded.

‘Control’ brings together two different corners of contemporary Italian house. Capriati’s increasingly wide-ranging approach meets the deeper, jazz-inflected sound that has surrounded GENNARO’s recent rise, resulting in a rolling club cut built around a prominent vocal hook, fluid percussion and flashes of saxophone.

The track has already spent much of the summer being tested on the dancefloor, appearing throughout Capriati’s Metamorfosi residency in Ibiza. That environment feels particularly connected to the record: rather than functioning purely as a studio collaboration, ‘Control’ has been shaped around the movement and immediacy of a club setting.

For GENNARO, the release continues a rapid period of growth following his breakout in 2024. Hailing from Ischia, the Italian producer has developed a sound that pulls jazz elements and deeper house textures into groove-heavy club records, leading to a growing run of releases across international imprints.

His arrival on Metamorfosi also fits into the wider purpose of the label. While the imprint was created as an extension of Capriati’s musical world, its catalogue has increasingly provided room for different interpretations of house and techno rather than locking itself into a single direction.

‘Control’ makes that relationship particularly direct. GENNARO’s sax-led, jazzier character remains clearly present, while Capriati’s rhythmic approach anchors the collaboration underneath. Instead of one producer disappearing into the other’s sound, the record finds its identity somewhere between the two.

The release also continues Capriati’s evolution beyond the harder techno with which much of his earlier career became associated. Through Metamorfosi, his Ibiza residency and recent productions, the Italian artist has continued exploring house, groove and more melodic territory alongside the techno foundations of his sound.
