Dam Swindle return to their roots with ‘Backyard Galaxy’, a radiant ode to house music’s timeless groove

After the widescreen ambition of their acclaimed 2025 album Open, Amsterdam’s beloved duo Dam Swindle dive straight back into the dancefloor trenches with Backyard Galaxy, a four-track EP that distills everything fans love about the Swindle sound. Out October 24 on their home turf label Heist Recordings, the release is pure, unfiltered house joy: soulful, rhythmic, and radiating that unmistakable warmth the pair have made their signature.

Where Open explored bold collaborations and genre-bending soundscapes, Backyard Galaxy is a love letter to movement itself. It’s the soundtrack of smoke-filled rooms and sun-splashed terraces, an EP built from groove, percussion, and soul.

Opener ‘Feel It Much?’ sets the tone with luscious pads, bright synth sprinkles, and that signature vocal loop that could only come from the Swindle playbook. It’s effortless and infectious, the kind of track that sneaks into your bones before you even realize you’re dancing.

Title cut ‘Backyard Galaxy’ turns up the energy, driven by Latin-inspired rhythms and crisp, front-foot drums. It’s playful yet powerful, built for peak-time release and spontaneous euphoria.
