Audio Obscura to host highway rave on Amsterdam's A10

In a landmark event celebrating Amsterdam’s 750th anniversary, Audio Obscura will host a one-day Highway Rave on Saturday, June 21, 2025 and transform a section of the city’s A10 highway into an open-air electronic music venue.
The event forms part of Festival op de Ring, a large-scale cultural initiative that will temporarily close the 17 km ring road for a series of public activities and performances. It is a free but ticketed event with tickets available via the Audio Obscura website from Wednesday, May 21 at 10 AM CEST.
Organisers describe the Highway Rave as a rare opportunity to experience music and community in a space usually dominated by vehicles, repurposed for a day of cultural programming. As part of the Festival op de Ring, the event showcases Amsterdam’s global reputation for innovation in music and urban culture.
Audio Obscura are prominent in the Duchess scene and are known for their distinctive use of unconventional locations such as the Rijksmuseum bicycle passage, Amsterdam Central Station, and the Concertgebouw. They deliver a high-impact, 9-hour show featuring a curated lineup of back-to-back DJ sets on a stage located near the RAI Metro Station on the A10 Zuid (entrance S109).
In conjunction with the event, a limited-edition t-shirt has been created through a collaboration between Audio Obscura and Applied Art Forms, a fashion label founded by Guy Berryman, bassist for the band Coldplay. Proceeds from the shirt, priced at €75, will go toward funding the event.
