Amnesia Celebrates 50 Years of Club Culture With a 19-Hour Closing Festival
The iconic Ibiza club brought its anniversary season to a close with thousands of dancers, a first-ever open-air stage and a journey through five decades of electronic music, culminating in a memorable sunrise on its legendary Terrace.
Amnesia concluded its 50th anniversary season on October 10 with a 19-hour Closing Festival that continued until midday on Sunday. More than a farewell to another Ibiza summer, the celebration paid tribute to five decades of club culture, bringing generations together around the values that have defined the venue since its beginnings: freedom, musical experimentation and the collective energy of the dancefloor.
For the first time in its history, Amnesia transformed its car park into the Anniversary Area, an open-air space inspired by the club's early years. Beginning at 17:00, Luca Donzelli, Kolter b2b Traumer and Joseph Capriati guided the crowd from afternoon into sunset, with Capriati's performance featuring a surprise appearance from Locomía. Alisha b2b Julian Fijma, Groove Armada and Max Dean completed an opening chapter that balanced house music, nostalgia and celebration.
At 23:00, the festival moved indoors, where three distinct spaces reflected different sides of Amnesia's musical identity. The Main Room embraced harder techno sounds with performances from Katnada, Estella Boersma, Serafina b2b Yanamaste, Nina Kraviz, Deborah De Luca, Future666 and Klangkuenstler. Meanwhile, the newly introduced El Taller offered a more intimate tribute to the club's musical heritage, featuring Franco Moiraghi, Jason Bye and longtime resident Les Schmitz.
On the Terrace, house music remained at the heart of the experience, with sets from Jamie Fielding, Luke Dean b2b Locky, Marco Faraone b2b Obskür and Max Dean b2b Sidney Charles. One of the evening's most symbolic moments came from musical director Mar-T, who combined music and visuals in a tribute to the club's 50-year history. As daylight began to enter the room, Saoirse and Enzo Siragusa delivered a sunrise back-to-back that connected contemporary house sounds with the venue's enduring legacy.
At 09:00, Joseph Capriati and Josh Baker took over for the season's final set. Across three hours and eight minutes, the pair moved through classics including ‘I Want Your Soul’, ‘Benediction’ and Martin Buttrich's ‘I'm Going There One Day’, before closing with Eurythmics' ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)’. A surprise appearance from Space Ibiza founder Pepe Roselló added another meaningful moment to the anniversary celebration.
Between spontaneous embraces, shared memories and thousands of dancers remaining until the final record, Amnesia's Closing Festival became more than a seasonal farewell. Fifty years after opening its doors, the club continues to connect generations through music, preserving the spirit that has shaped its identity from the very beginning: 50 years dancing in freedom.
