The Sound of Brooklyn’s Warehouses: Saint Velez Announces Debut Album ‘Truth Be Told’

After a decade shaping the sound of Bushwick and Bed Stuy's warehouse scene, Brooklyn producer Saint Velez is ready for his most ambitious chapter yet. Via his Illegal Rhythm imprint, he has announced his debut LP, ‘Truth Be Told’, alongside the release of its lead single, "Authority (Inspirational Hater)".

This record is a culmination of a decade spent in the underground, crafting a sound that is raw, physically driven, and unmistakably New York. As the founder of Illegal Rhythm and a resident of the Agape Music collective, Saint Velez has earned his stripes the hard way. His tracks have been championed by legends like Richie Hawtin, who opened his 2025 Boiler Room set with a Velez production, and he has shared the stage with the likes of Sara Landry and I Hate Models.

"Authority" serves as a pivotal introduction to an album that Saint Velez describes as a deeply personal journey. From the dark rooms of Basement to the airwaves of The Lot Radio, his music carries a genuine authority that is hard to find. ‘Truth Be Told’ is more than just a collection of techno tracks; it is a brutally physical and spiritually charged statement from one of the most respected voices in the American underground.
