Syncia & CASH ONLY Launch Collaborative Single Project With ‘Surrender’

The room at Pikes had already settled into its own logic. Low ceiling, bodies close, the kind during a night when track IDs stop mattering because the sound takes over. Somewhere inside that Back To Mine set for Days Of Disco, Syncia dropped a record that declined to be identified. No Shazam trace. No quick fix. Just weight, swing and a darkened sense of intent. A friend sent the clip on. CASH ONLY watched it once, then again. The connection was immediate, not strategic.

That unidentified track became the first thread. CASH ONLY traced it back to Syncia and moved quickly, signing it to Famous When Dead Records. What followed wasn’t a one-off exchange but a steady move toward something shared. Studio sessions stretched. References widened. The music drifted away from individual lanes and into a common space formed by bass pressure, UK swing and an unvoiced recognition of where House can go when it stops chasing the obvious.

‘Surrender’, released on 16 January, is the first public document of that alignment. It doesn’t announce itself as a collaboration. It simply behaves like one. It marks the start of an ongoing joint project between Syncia and CASH ONLY, not as a side experiment, but as a parallel line running alongside their individual work.

“I’ve worked with loads of songwriters, vocalists, and engineers over the past couple of years, trying to define my direction. With Syncia, there’s a darker space I can step into. It taps directly into my Garage and Jungle roots. I don’t think I’ve ever worked with anyone more aligned to where I want to go.” The sessions, he notes, rarely follow a straight path. “We’ll get distracted, firing tracks back and forth, digging into each other’s tastes. That’s where momentum builds.”

For Syncia, the value lies in permission. “Finding someone you genuinely love working with is rare,” he says. “CASH gives me the freedom to explore new sounds while holding the focus sharp. The question is always simple: does it move the room?” That grounding principle is audible in ‘Surrender’, which avoids excess in favour of pressure and control.

The studio output is already stacking up. Several new tracks are in circulation, including one featuring vocals from Elje, whose voice has previously appeared alongside Notion, Murphy’s Law, Wilfy D, and Jack Marlow. A recent NU WAVE mix aired on Scott Garcia’s Kiss FM UKG show offered an early glimpse of the material, while live appearances at ADE for Select Radio and London’s Basing House have tested the sound in front of bodies rather than algorithms. More dates are planned across 2026.

Outside the studio, CASH ONLY continues to extend his wider universe. His CASH ONLY Chronicles project, a high-energy video series developed with Henry Fisher, blends House and Garage sets with fast-cut storytelling and humour, translating club energy into short-form narrative. An international tour is in motion, with dates across Asia and Europe taking shape, but the collaborative project with Syncia operates differently. It isn’t about scale. It’s about depth.

Both artists arrive here with their own histories. CASH ONLY has spent recent years shaping his sound across club floors, festivals, and radio, with appearances spanning Glastonbury, Hï Ibiza, Café Mambo, Defected Croatia, Reading, Parklife, and Pikes Ibiza, while steering Famous When Dead Records through a run of chart-impacting releases. Syncia, meanwhile, has built a reputation through club-focused records that lean into tension and texture, from chart-climbing releases on Taikomochi to Kneaded Pains and Release LDN, alongside regular BBC Radio 1 support and international shows from Miami to Ibiza.

‘Surrender’ doesn’t attempt to summarise any of that. It simply opens a door. As a first statement, it suggests a long-term conversation rather than a headline moment. Bass-led, grounded and unhurried, it sets the mood for a series of releases that will continue to unfold on their own terms, somewhere between the darker corners of House and the restless pulse of UK club culture.
