Marie Vaunt and Bassjackers collide on new single ‘Acid Nation’

Marie Vaunt and Bassjackers have joined forces on ‘Acid Nation’, a new collaboration landing via Arcane Music on September 18.

Sitting somewhere between acid techno, rave and the increasingly fast mainstage sound, the track pulls together two different corners of contemporary electronic music. Vaunt brings the darker 303-driven pressure that has become central to her productions, while Bassjackers push the record toward the bigger, more immediate end of the rave spectrum.

At 152 BPM, ‘Acid Nation’ wastes little time getting there. Acid lines move over heavy drums and a thick low end before the tension gives way to a bouncing peak-time drop. Rather than smoothing out the differences between the two acts, the collaboration leans into them: techno pressure on one side, festival-sized impact on the other.

The release continues Vaunt’s relationship with Arcane Music, following ‘Let The Bass Kick’, ‘Never Gonna Stop’ and her ‘303 101’ EP. Across those releases, the Japanese-American producer has continued pushing acid and techno into faster, increasingly direct dancefloor territory.

Bassjackers bring a different kind of weight. The Dutch duo’s big-room foundations meet Vaunt’s darker palette here without pulling the track completely toward either side. Instead, ‘Acid Nation’ sits in the overlap between acid, techno and the harder rave sound increasingly moving through festival stages.

That crossover is ultimately what drives the record. The lines separating techno, hard dance and mainstage electronic music have become increasingly porous, and ‘Acid Nation’ plays directly with that tension: fast, acidic and designed for maximum impact.
