One of the UK’s most in-demand DJ and producers, Josh Baker, releases his brand new 5-track EP ‘Come Closer’ on his influential imprint You&Me Records.
Following global success with recent singles ‘Leave A Message’ (featuring Poppy Wright and Trick Shady) and ‘Dr Feel Right’ with Egyptian Lover and Rome Fortune, both of which became major summer and autumn club records, Josh returns to his home label with a project that reflects the full scope of his sound after eighteen relentless months of touring and studio work.
2025 has been a defining year for Josh. His tracks ‘Back It Up’ and ‘You Don’t Own Me’ earned multi-week positions on the Official Charts. His 4,000-capacity headline at Magazine London sold out. His Boiler Room debut drew widespread praise. He completed a month-long BBC Radio 1 residency, delivered a packed You&Me takeover at The Warehouse Project, held consistent Ibiza slots across DC-10, Hï, Amnesia and UNVRS, and received his Coachella 2026 announcement, confirming his arrival as a global headliner. Alongside this momentum came the You&Me 10-year anniversary series, which sold out major venues worldwide and showcased how the label has grown from a Manchester concept into an international powerhouse. All of this energy flows directly into ‘Come Closer’, a collection that feels celebratory, colourful and refined.
Speaking about the EP, Josh shares: “Five tracks on my beloved You&Me Records, each one representing a different shade of what I’ve been cooking over the last 18 months.”
The EP opens with ‘Come Closer’ (featuring Sienna Sophia), a standout in Josh’s recent sets and the opening track of his Creamfields headline performance in August. Warm chords, a rolling low-end and Sienna Sophia’s emotive vocals blend into an intimate yet club-ready introduction to the project. ‘Subsonic’ switches the tone with a tight, percussive late-night tool, channeling the deep and hypnotic feel of his recent shows. The energy shifts again on ‘Signs of Life’ (featuring Lily McKenzie), a breezy, melodic cut driven by euphoric synths and Lily’s crystalline toplines. ‘Description’ enters more experimental territory, weaving glitchy textures and crunchy basslines into one of the EP’s most playful ideas. Closing track ‘Free Your Mind’ floats on warm pads, bright chord swells and a trippy vocal sample designed for after-hours moments, summarizing the versatility found across Baker’s sets.
The EP arrives ahead of a packed touring schedule. Josh plays in Bristol with Sweely tonight (28th November) and at Circus in Liverpool tomorrow in a b2b with Max Dean, before heading to Miami for Art Basel to perform both a major You&Me showcase and a Paradise event alongside Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati and more. December continues with a set at Rise Festival in France on 6th December, followed by two Belfast shows before he closes the year with a run of Australian dates beginning 28th December.
With ‘Come Closer’, Josh Baker reinforces why he stands at the forefront of the new generation of British house artists, ending a monumental year with precision, personality and groove.
