Jay Lumen steps out under his Avalon Child alias as he launches new house imprint, PLAYGROUND.

Avalon Child, the dynamic new alias of renowned techno DJ/producer Jay Lumen—known for his work on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, Pan-Pot’s Second State, and his own label Footwork—signals an exciting return to the Hungarian talent’s roots and early influences, taking inspiration from across the house realm. Following the success of Avalon Child’s debut EP ‘Fire’ on MOXY MUSIK, Lumen now proudly unveils the project’s second release alongside the launch of his brand-new label, PLAYGROUND—a vibrant community true to its name, designed for artists and music lovers to explore and experiment with diverse shades of house music. Doubling down to open the New Year, his sophomore release under the new alias ‘My Beat’ brings a high-energy two-track EP that includes an electrifying garage-fuelled remix of Lumen’s beloved ‘Alive’, with the label set to become a hub for innovation and a home for forward-thinking artists from across the globe.

"I created this alias as I didn't want to hold back the tracks that I've made in the past anymore. I refreshed them for my actual taste, and I want to share them with people all around. As a producer, I love to be coloured and to be on a wide spectrum. Now it's a bit of "back to my house roots", as I love to play house music at some of my summer shows. Also, I want to make sure that people can separate my different sounds, so I would say it was a better idea to release them under a new alias. So here you go, and I hope you will like them." - Jay Lumen.

Big-room atmospherics take over as this remix of Lumen’s ‘Alive’ redefines the original with pulsating low-end sub-bass, wailing sirens, and a raw, heavy beat that packs a serious punch. In addition, ‘My Beat’ leans into ascending sonics that create an out-of-body groove, while deep, driving hits bring intensity to the funky undertones.

Avalon Child ‘My Beat’ drops via PLAYGROUND on 17th January 2025.
