Hydro:Ice Wants to Pay You to Do What You Were Already Doing: Party

What if you could get paid for all those steps you took?

Meet Hydro:Ice, a vitamin-fortified, glow-in-the-dark ice pop that is made to cool you down so you can Stay Hot, recognizes party-goers as athletes and their physical effort. Now, they’re turning one of them into the world's first professional partygoer. The winner will walk away with up to €4,000 and a trip for two to the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE).

Hydro:Ice is turning this summer’s biggest festivals into a competition where every step you take brings you closer to becoming the world's first Hydro:Ice Pro.

Turns out all those weekends on the dancefloor were training. Hydro:Ice is looking for the world’s first professional partygoer.

A wristband you refused to cut off.

A camera roll full of blurry videos.

A voice that didn’t come back until Tuesday.

Now there’s something else.

Nobody goes to a festival thinking about their step count.

But somewhere between sprinting to catch a surprise B2B, walking across the site because your friends texted “you have to get here now,” and getting lost looking for food at 2 am, your phone has been quietly documenting the entire experience.

Open your Health app after a weekend at Lowlands, Into The Woods, SONA or No Art and you’ll probably find numbers that don't quite add up: 40,000 to 50,000 steps, hours moving between stages, dancing and navigating crowds.

A full day at a festival can rival the physical demands of endurance exercise, and wearable trackers even classify these days as some of their users' most active of the year.

The truth is, festival weekends involve far more sustained movement than most people realise, often more than a typical day of training.

Hydro:Ice wants to celebrate that hidden effort by turning this summer’s biggest festivals into a competition where every kilometre counts. Because if your Health app already thinks you’ve been training all weekend, what if you could get paid for all those steps you took?

Throughout the summer, people attending selected festivals across Europe are invited to track their weekend, share their stats and tell the story behind them. It’s not simply about who covered the most ground. Creativity, originality and the way you capture your experience matter just as much as the numbers on your screen.
