Globus: Büro Siebzig — The Closing of a Season that Redefined Thursdays in Berlin

During July and August 2025, Globus transformed its Thursday nights with Büro Siebzig, a limited live concert series that became a meeting point for Berlin’s creative diversity. Each week, a new live act took the stage before giving way to a klubnacht that ran until 5 a.m., offering a broad panorama of the sonic influences shaping the local scene today — from Turkish psychedelic acid to post-punk, contemporary neo-soul, and jazz.
Conceived as a deliberate detour from Globus’ usual Thursday format, Büro Siebzig placed its bet on live performance as a space for artistic cross-pollination — a place where the quiet tension of the shared creative process sparked connections, spontaneity, and collective experiences.
The name pays tribute to the legendary Fischbüro, an experimental art space co-founded in West Berlin in the 1980s by Dimitri Hegemann, founder of Tresor. There, creation outweighed perfection and participation took precedence over consumption. Following that philosophy where Fisch represented movement and Büro structure, Büro Siebzig revived this tradition of communal experimentation and a process-driven approach.
The penultimate night: Melbourne in Berlin
The second-to-last edition was hosted by Australian label Paper-Cuts, a key name in Melbourne’s underground. The night celebrated the release of Radart’s (Dylan Batelic) debut album, a project capturing the revival of early 2000s chill-out music currently flourishing in Melbourne/Naarm. The evening made it clear that Büro Siebzig is not just a showcase for local talent, but also an open window to global scenes.
What’s ahead for the finale

This Thursday, Büro Siebzig closes its run with a night dedicated to the richness of live producers who call the city home. Taking the stage will be Henry Weekes, delivering a high-energy set marked by deconstructed saxophone and fractured rhythms, exploring mood, memory, and texture between analog warmth and digital tension.
The night will also feature douniah, bringing her rich fusion of soul, jazz, and beat-driven introspection, followed by an after-hours until 5am with Adam Cooke, Daisy Weweh, and Two Thou.

In just seven weeks, Büro Siebzig didn’t just host concerts — it created a living archive of how collaboration, openness, and experimentation remain essential drivers of independent music in Berlin.
