Forum Digbeth Announces Major Expansion as New Warehouse Space “The Annexe” Increases Total Capacity to 4,000
Forum Digbeth, one of Birmingham’s leading spaces for live music and cultural programming, has announced a major expansion with the development of a new adjoining warehouse, The Annexe. The addition will increase the venue’s total capacity from 2,000 to 4,000, marking a significant new phase for nightlife in the city.
The venue opened earlier this summer at the former Roller Jam site in Digbeth, created by the same team behind Forum Birmingham, which closed in April following the shutdown of the Corporation Square building by its landlords. The acquisition and redevelopment of the neighbouring warehouse will allow Forum Digbeth to expand its scope, offering larger live shows, multi-room events and an extended club programme.
The Annexe will open on 20 December with Cru2, followed by a New Year’s Eve takeover from DnB Allstars. Programming for 2026 is already underway, with partners including Live Nation, Louder and Bongo’s Bingo preparing future events.
Louder comments, “Forum Digbeth has that raw, industrial energy you just can’t fake, and The Annexe builds perfectly on that vibe. It is the kind of space that artists and fans feed off. It is built for proper live moments. Birmingham’s scene has been crying out for somewhere like this, and we’re hyped to help break it in.”
Billy Chauhan of Global Venues adds, “The Annexe lets us deliver the scale, production and atmosphere that major artists and promoters are demanding from Birmingham. We are doubling capacity because the city is ready for it. The audience is here, the ambition is here, and we are committed to leading from the front.”
The expansion signals growing momentum in Birmingham’s nightlife landscape and new opportunities for promoters, touring artists and local crowds.
