Florian Picasso opens 2026 with darker edge on new single ‘Pretty Boy’
Florian Picasso begins 2026 by stripping things back to something heavier, tougher and more direct. His new single Pretty Boy is out now via RAW, marking a clear pivot away from the playful tone of his recent output and into a more shadowed, club-focused register. Built on deep, pounding low-end and a tense, unrelenting groove, the track signals a sharpened underground intent.
Where recent releases leaned into charm and irreverence, Pretty Boy is deliberately confrontational. It trades lightness for pressure, drawing on raw electro and techno signifiers while keeping the rhythm locked firmly to the dance floor. The result is a track designed for peak-time moments when subtlety gives way to physical impact, reflecting a side of Florian Picasso’s project that has been steadily emerging across late-night sets and extended club appearances.
The release lands after a defining year for the Paris-based artist. Throughout 2025, Florian Picasso delivered a run of high-impact records, including When I Saw U, the Booty EP and the viral Sugar Daddy, alongside an intense touring schedule. Appearances ranged from Pacha Ibiza as part of Solomun +1 to a career-first all night long set at Rex Club. His ADE run further reinforced his growing underground presence, combining music and fashion through a collaborative release event with Filling Pieces and a showcase for his Dekadance imprint in partnership with DureVie.
“I’ve always admired how Alex moves between genres with such grit,” Florian says, referring to Boys Noize. “We were at dinner after the Dekadance show and I found myself in full fanboy mode, just talking shop and absorbing his perspective on that raw electro-techno crossover. I went back to the studio wanting to make something he’d actually play. Something aggressive, dark, unapologetic. Pretty Boy came directly from that energy.”
Beyond the booth, Florian Picasso continues to operate at the intersection of club culture and fashion. Recent appearances at Milan and Paris Fashion Weeks for houses including Prada, Kolor and David Catalán underline his positioning within a broader creative ecosystem, where sound, image and identity move fluidly between worlds. That crossover extends into his own curatorial projects, with Dekadance functioning as both a party series and a platform for multidisciplinary expression.
He now turns his attention to a Valentine’s Day special at Mia Mao in Paris, continuing a run of club-focused dates that emphasise intimacy, pressure and long-form storytelling over spectacle. With Pretty Boy, Florian Picasso makes his intentions for 2026 clear: darker rooms, heavier moments, and music that prioritises instinct over polish.
