Europe’s Longest-Running Open-Air Club Kiesgrube Unveils Full 2026 Season
Kiesgrube has announced the full programme for its 2026 season as the German open-air venue marks 30 years of continuous operation. The anniversary edition will run from April through August with a series of weekly events alongside venue upgrades and expanded facilities.
Founded in 1996, Kiesgrube has operated as a regular open-air Sunday event for three decades, maintaining a consistent presence on the European electronic music circuit. For 2026, the site has been reworked with an upgraded L-Acoustics sound system and expanded dancefloor areas, and organisers are also planning a new restaurant concept, a dedicated food area, upgraded digital infrastructure and more.
The 30th anniversary season begins on April 19 with a pre-opening event led by Maceo Plex, followed by the official opening on May 1 headlined by Peggy Gou and Dennis Cruz. May continues with WhoMadeWho (May 14) and Pawsa (May 25), before Black Coffee returns on June 14 and Amelie Lens takes focus on June 21. Jamie Jones and The Martinez Brothers headline June 28 alongside Vintage Culture and Paco Osuna, while July 12 features Sven Väth with Dixon B2B Jimi Jules. August includes a Mahmut Orhan Weekender and a date with Boris Brejcha and Andrea Oliva, before the season closes on August 30 with Joseph Capriati B2B Mau P.
Founder Tom Preuss says, “Kiesgrube never became anonymous. Never corporate. It remained independent. Defined by its intimacy, its honesty, and the direct, unfiltered connection between artist and audience. With its 30-year anniversary, a new chapter begins. The venue has been carefully reimagined and thoughtfully evolved, guided by a clear and deliberate vision: to protect the spirit of this place while preparing it for the decades ahead. Not driven by trends, but by purpose. Not only for Düsseldorf, but for the wider European cultural landscape it helped shape. This milestone season reflects that same ambition musically.”
The site continues to emphasise close proximity between DJs and dancers, with production designed to maintain the venue’s established open-air format. The 2026 season is intended both as a milestone celebration and a foundation for future development.
