Etruria label boss, Luca Agnelli remixes ‘firestarter’ on Hex Recordings

The multi-faceted HEX Recordings launched in 2014 in the Spanish city of Barcelona. In ten years, founders Paolo Ferrara & Lorenzo Raganzini have developed the label from a respected outlet of premier hard techno, into a clothing brand (HEX Clothing) and an international event series.

Held in the highest regard amongst electronic dance circles, HEX has pioneered a distinctive strand of techno which brutally fuses elements of metal. Dubbed, ‘technometal’ this crossover of genres aligns with the punk-rave imagery and personas of its Italian founders and many of those that feature on the label’s global roster.

Lorenzo and Paolo released their ‘Firestarter’ single in 2024, and almost a year later, they have called on Italian producer Luca Agnelli, for a killer remix to make the label first release of 2025. Known for his energetic and powerful sets and releases, Luca is also the founder of Etruria Beats, a label that started over a decade ago, he has released music from Radio Slave, Amelie Lens, Alignment and Nico Moreno.

From the very first drumbeat, ‘Firestarter’ thumps with the same roaring intensity as its predecessor. Fusing the tortured vocals of the original, Luca fearlessly cranks up each component to produce a punishing, hard style groove that jack hammers aside an assertive looping low-end of thudding bass, pounding percussion and frazzling synth.

Luca’s remix of ‘Firestarter’ will be released on all DSP’s on the 7 th February 2025
