Chris Stussy showcases his diverse sound with the long-awaited release of new single, ‘Desire’
Following his 2024 UK tour announcement and monthly docu-series launch.
Adding to his thriving Up The Stuss imprint and building on an impressive 2023, the heavily-requested release of ‘Desire’ lands following the recent announcement of his four-date UK Tour and the launch of his monthly YouTube docu-series, ‘Chris Stussy: Uncut’.
DJ, producer and Up The Stuss boss Chris Stussy has established himself as a central figure within the modern house landscape, crafting a sound that is entirely his own while maturing as a tastemaker and a selector at the forefront of the scene. Building on a rollercoaster 2023, which included debuts at Coachella and Timewarp USA, the launch of his Across Boundaries alias with Locklead, Ibiza appearances for Circoloco, Paradise, Solid Grooves, The Martinez Brothers and Hï, the release of the heavily-requested ‘Midtown Playground’ on FUSE and the inimitable ‘All Night Long’ via his own UTS imprint, clocking up 10m+ streams, and featuring as DJ Mag’s October cover star, February brings a new project from the Amsterdam-based talent.
Enter ‘Desire’, a production that has been captivating dancefloors via his dynamic and compelling live sets for months, and a track flooding social media already well before its release as yet another anthem at the top of ‘Track ID?’ request lists from fans across the globe, with the infectious production dropping on 9th February 2024.
“What initially started out as just a cheeky edit for me to play in my sets quickly became one of my most requested songs. It’s fun to see how these things happen when you least expect them.” - Chris Stussy.
From the rich piano chords and ever-silky drum grooves through to the vibrant synth leads and alluring vocals at the heart of the production, the expertly crafted ‘Desire’ is another exploration of the ever-expanding Stussy sound as he continues to showcase precisely why he’s an artist in unprecedented global demand.
The release lands hot on the heels of a series of exciting announcements and new projects for the Dutch artist, with his four-date UK tour throughout April taking in shows including Secret Warehouse (Manchester), Mint Warehouse (Leeds), Invisible Wind Factory (Liverpool), and a highly-anticipated return to KOKO (London) - the venue of his infamous all-night-long set in the capital last year.
The Up The Stuss boss also recently launched his new monthly docu-series, ‘Chris Stussy: Uncut’, offering a behind-the-scenes insight into his meteoric rise over the past two years. Captured and edited by close friend Tim Jonker, the first episode showcases life on the road during his 2022 North and South America tour, taking in shows at Escape Halloween (San Bernardino), Halcyon (San Francisco), Club Space (Miami), Comunion Festival (Bogotal), and Safari Club (Asuncion) - watch HERE.
