Amsterdam’s Thuishaven launches in-house label Haven Trax with Prunk’s ‘The Game’ EP.
The renowned Dutch venue showcases its debut musical offering on 13th December 2024 with an impressive EP from the PIV Records boss, featuring three essential house tracks dropping eleven years after his first Thuishaven event appearance.
For over a decade, Amsterdam’s Thuishaven has been a pivotal force at the forefront of the Dutch electronic music scene, hosting legendary artists such as Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Jamie Jones, Jeff Mills, Gerd Janson and many more. Renowned for its raw and unique aesthetic, the venue has become a cornerstone of the city's underground music scene, drawing music lovers from all corners of the globe. Among the venue’s consistent acts, Dutch DJ/producer Prunk has carved out a prominent place at the heart of its programming, from his sold-out 10-hour marathons to an endless list of appearances on coveted lineups alongside the industry's finest dating back to the venue’s first-ever event over eleven years ago.
Now, with Thuishaven’s debut release on its in-house label, Haven Trax, the Dutch powerhouses turn to the PIV head honcho as the first guest once again to set the standard on the label side as they prepare to highlight the talent of core family members and key guests from over the years. Drawing on his extensive studio experience, the Dutch mainstay’s new three-tracker provides a fresh take on his signature sound—rooted in soulful, groove-driven house music with a future-focused approach. This release not only marks a milestone for Thuishaven but sets the stage for what promises to be an exciting wave of new offerings in the months ahead - with Prunk’s next 10HRS show scheduled for 1st February in line with the release’s forthcoming vinyl drop.
Opening the EP, ‘The Game’ brings shimmering tones and polished synths that seamlessly merge to create an uplifting anthem perfect for sunset moments. ‘Pyramid’ follows with a sleek groove, straddling the line between funk and house while delivering a paired-back yet punchy vibe. Closing out the EP ‘Galaxy’ ushers in a darker mood as the sun fades, with tunnelling rhythms and fizzing beats that slowly pull you into a hypnotic trip, offering a compelling first taste of the label’s forward-thinking direction.
