AJ Christou drops new house heat on Crosstown Rebels
Manchester based AJ Christou is set to return to Crosstown Rebels with a new two-track EP titled Desire, scheduled for release on April 25.
The new school DJ and producer who heads up his own V-House Sound has previously appeared on the label’s Spirits compilation series and now follows up with a solo project. He has also driven his tightly programmed and punchy house sounds on labels such as Hot Creations, Cuttin’ Headz and Fools Gold Records, and as well as solo cuts Christou has also collaborated with artists like A-Trak and Robert Owens.
Says AJ Christou, “This is crazy to finally have my own Crosstown Rebels EP! I have been collecting and playing their records for as long as I can remember, and after my recent release on the Spirits VA, it was my goal to achieve a full release!!!”
The Desire EP features two cuts - the title track incorporates deep bass, sharp percussion and a catchy vocal line, while the second tune, 'Patience', presents layered textures and a rhythmic, hypnotic groove that reflects Christou’s unique take on club ready house.
