86 Hours, Five Days, One Legend: Renate’s Last New Year’s Eve as We Know It

Berlin doesn't do new years eve quietly, but this year one party stands above the noise. From Wednesday, December 31 to Sunday, January 4, Renate will hold its doors open for 86 hours straight, a final, defiant glow before the club as we know it slips into its next phase. It's a celebration, a farewell and a gathering of the extended Renate family, past, present and those who simply never left the dancefloor.

Eighteen years is a long time to shape a city's nightlife pulse. Renate has always been more than a venue, it's an atmosphere, a labyrinth, a place where nights rearrange themselves into stories. This closing chapter honours all of that: the sweat fogged rooms, the balcony sunrises, the unexpected tenderness of strangers becoming accomplices by the end of the night.

The marathons line up reads like a love letter to the people who've kept the club awake all these years. Special guests include Beau Dider, Delano Legito, DJ Handbag, Felicie, KLEA, Lewis Fautazi, Luke Range, NASTYA NVRSLP, S Ruston, Sept, Stephanie Sykes and many more to be announced - across-section of the sounds Renate has championed and amplified.

A series of takeovers by CSR, femcel, Orbit, Rummels Bucht and Tiergarten brings a fresh perspective into the fold ; each crew reshaping the building's energy in their own image, from basement grit to upstairs euphoria.

The club’s backbone, the Renate residents, will be out in full force: Ady Toledano, Amy Dabbs, Frozilla, Johannes Albert, Juan Ramos and Vio PRG. These are the selectors who know the rooms intimately, who understand exactly how to shift the mood at 6 AM, 6 PM, or somewhere in between.

Across the five days, live shows and performances from Atzenpunk, CherrYO!-kie, Duct Tape, Gelbes Pep Aus Düsseldorf and more will thread unpredictability through the marathon, the kind of moments you

can't plan for, the kind that become part of the club’s folklore.

This is a commemoration of what Renate built: the community, the queerness, the mischief, the countless subcultures that found their pocket of freedom inside these walls. And while the future is uncertain, the sentiment remains hopeful. Perhaps this is only a temporary closing for the curtain, a deep inhale before whatever comes next.

Tickets are available now through Resident Advisor, with options for the full 5-day odyssey or individual day passes for those who want to dip into the madness on their own terms. Renate has never been about endings. It's about stretching the night until it becomes something else entirely. It's not over till it's over, until then, we dance.
