Stella's journey into the electronic music scene reads like a modern-day fable. "Do you know the movie 'The Meteor Man' from 1993?" she asks with a mischievous grin. "A great film in which a man is accidentally hit by a meteorite and gains super energy. The same goes for me and Techno." At just 15 years old, she stumbled into a world that would shape her destiny. "I immediately got the Rave energy that changed my life forever!" she recalls with a laugh. From that moment on, there was no turning back.
Fast forward to today, and Stella stands at the forefront of the techno revolution, wielding her label 'The Beat Must Fuck' as a weapon of sonic exploration. "I want to release what I want and when I want," she declares, embodying a spirit of rebellion that resonates with artists and fans alike. For Stella, it's not about conforming to industry norms; it's about championing creativity in its purest form.
With over one million followers across her social networks, Stella's influence extends far beyond the dance floor. But amidst the glitz and glamour, she remains grounded, always engaging with her audience on a personal level.
"At the end of the day, I'm only where I am because of them," she acknowledges, highlighting the symbiotic relationship between artist and fan. “I always chat to my followers as much as possible. Always.”
But it's not just the music world that has taken notice of Stella's magnetic presence. Big fashion brands have also been drawn to her unique style and personality. "What is the appeal of the persona? You’ll have to ask the brands," she quips, leaving a tantalizing mystery in her wake. Stella's residency at the legendary Kit Kat Club in Berlin is a testament to her status as a true icon of the underground. With each performance, she transports her audience to another dimension, where the boundaries between reality and fantasy blur into one.
"Kit Kat Club and especially Symbiotikka is like a family to me. The parties there are always insane and one of a kind. We always open up the club one or two hours earlier in order to provide a smooth entry. My next gig there will be on the 2nd of October, you are welcome to drop by."
Behind the sunglasses and the mystique lies a woman who is unapologetically herself.
"Stella Bossi is a big part of me, but of course, I also have a private side that remains private," she confides. Balancing the demands of fame with the need for authenticity is no easy feat, but Stella navigates the tightrope with grace and poise.
“Did you know that it used to be quite common in Bar25 to play a role at the weekend? And by role, I mean that you created a fictional character with a whole story and an outfit. And then you played this character all night or sometimes even all weekend long. A fantastic concept that I've stuck by.”
In the whirlwind of touring and performing, maintaining a healthy balance is essential for both physical and mental well-being. For Stella Bossi, this means prioritizing self-care amidst the fast-paced lifestyle of a DJ. "Drinking less, eating a healthy diet, trying to exercise and getting enough sleep - whatever you can do helps," she emphasizes.
As a pioneer of the new Techno generation, Stella Bossi holds a unique perspective on the future of electronic music. "Techno is a super hyped topic at the moment," she observes. "I think Techno will continue to spread and mix more and more with other music styles and genres - until the mainstream has had enough of it and drops it like a hot potato ;)" the artist predicts, embracing the ever-evolving landscape with open arms.
And as for her own contribution? "Unexpected things will come," she teases, leaving us eagerly anticipating what lies on the horizon.
“This is going to be a super interesting year when it comes to music and musical collaborations. After having to learn the hard way about my health last year, that life is finite, I want to feel even freer in terms of my creativity, the people I collaborate with and the music I release. In the past, I've worked for artists and supported them with my vocals. This year I will be using my vocals for my own tracks.”
