Pacha New York launches: Brooklyn Mirage enters a new era under FIVE Holdings

The Brooklyn Mirage is entering a bold new chapter. One of New York’s most recognisable electronic music destinations is set to relaunch as Pacha New York, marking a significant expansion for the legendary Ibizan-born brand, and signalling a renewed investment in Brooklyn’s role as a global capital for dance culture.

The move sees FIVE Holdings enter into a long-term agreement assuming full operational management of the Brooklyn Mirage and The Great Hall complex. The partnership blends the site’s local legacy, built through Avant Gardner’s evolution of the venue over the past decade, with Pacha’s globally established expertise in building large-scale nightlife destinations shaped by music, community, and cultural identity.

Positioned as more than a rebrand, Pacha New York is being framed as a cultural platform: a home for international headliners, underground innovators, and the city’s creative communities to intersect, with the kind of scale, ambition, and production depth typically reserved for major global nightlife markets.

A first season built for global scale and Brooklyn energy

Pacha New York will launch its first season from June through October 2026, with programming expected to combine world-class electronic artists and homegrown New York talent across the summer calendar. The team promises “large-scale shows rarely seen in New York City,” with the kind of elevated production the Brooklyn Mirage brand has long been associated with, now backed by Pacha’s global infrastructure and FIVE Holdings’ platform.

While summer will anchor the headline moments, the wider vision extends beyond seasonal programming. The Great Hall is set to continue operating year-round as a multi-genre space, with upgrades planned to support a broader spectrum of live acts and emerging sounds, keeping the complex active beyond peak festival months.

Crucially, the project is also leaning into locality: the operators say Pacha New York will stay rooted in Brooklyn, with ongoing partnerships with local artists, collectives, and promoters intended to ensure the venue reflects the community that shaped its legacy in the first place.

“A statement of intent” for Pacha and a defining move for FIVE

Speaking on the announcement, Kabir Mulchandani, Chairman and CEO of FIVE Holdings, described the New York launch as far more than a standard market expansion.

“New York… marks a defining moment in our global journey,” he said, framing the move as a long-term commitment aimed at building destinations with cultural impact “far beyond their physical walls.”

The news also lands against the backdrop of the venue’s high-profile financial restructuring story. Andrew Axelrod, CEO and CIO of Axar Capital, said that after supporting Avant Gardner through a challenging 2025, an agreement in principle has been achieved with the Committee of Unsecured Creditors resolving material matters related to the Chapter 11 plan and sale transaction, enabling the transition to FIVE and Pacha to move forward.

He added that the partnership is focused on restoring the venue as a beloved destination for music fans, while elevating it “to even greater heights.”

The next chapter for a 50+ year dancefloor legacy

With a heritage stretching back more than five decades, Pacha’s arrival in New York represents a major cultural moment for dance music, one that aims to bridge global club heritage with Brooklyn’s contemporary creative pulse.

At its core, the promise is simple: nightlife that’s culturally meaningful, globally connected, and locally rooted. A stage for artists. A home for music lovers. And a new chapter in a legacy built on the dancefloor.
