Monkey shoulder launches shoulder 2 shoulder radio: a 27-hour broadcast blending hiphop and house
In collaboration with Radio Radio, Monkey Shoulder presents a unique mix of sets and interviews featuring artists such as Jarreau Vandal, Elias Mazian, Doudou MD, Rozaly, Carlos Valdes, Samuel Deep, Cinnaman, and many more.

Amsterdam, 12th of March 2025 - On April 9 and 10, the first edition of Shoulder 2 Shoulder Radio will take place at Radio Radio in Amsterdam. This online radio event explores the intersection of hiphop and house, bringing together some of the Netherlands' most influential artists who share a connection to both genres. More than just a showcase of musical styles, the show aims to highlight where identity and culture overlap. To guide these conversations, Vincent Reinders—renowned 3FM radio host and founder of Radio Radio—will host the broadcast, leading interviews and seamlessly connecting the different segments.
27 Hours of Music, Inspired by Monkey Shoulder
The choice of a 27-hour broadcast is no coincidence—it’s a nod to Monkey Shoulder’s signature flavor, first discovered in batch 27. Just as this batch set the foundation for the whisky’s unique character, Shoulder 2 Shoulder Radio blends diverse genres and perspectives to create something entirely new.
"Our tagline ‘Made for Mixing’ isn’t just about cocktails—it’s about music too. With this radio concept, we’re proud to contribute to the conversation on music and identity here in the Netherlands, while providing a platform for artists to explore new creative ground."
— Sam van der Vliet, Brand Manager, Monkey Shoulder

Unexpected Sets and In-Depth Conversations
Artists such as Jarreau Vandal, Carlos Valdes, Doudou MD, Jerrau, and Boris Werner will deliver exclusive sets during the broadcast. While music is at the core of the event, the extended format allows for deeper discussions on identity and culture, featuring panel talks and interviews with guests like rapper SKAV. Additional guest interviewers include Steven van Lummel (host of the Bakkie Bakkie podcast & founder of PIP Den Haag) and Fatou Thiam (MC/host and co-founder of Marimba Amsterdam – African Electronic Community). Lastly never-before-aired sets from Amsterdam’s most influential clubs will also be featured throughout the night,
"The concept came together almost effortlessly. Many artists have a much broader taste in music than the genre they’re primarily known for, so it felt like everyone was eager to take part. It’s truly a collaborative effort, and the energy behind it will define its success."
— Yogh Nelson, Shoulder 2 Shoulder Radio Programmer
"I have so many great records that don’t always fit my club sets or usual performances. With this radio show, where genres blend freely, I get to showcase a different side of my music collection."
— Doudou MD
