Congratulations on your debut album Save Me! What inspired the album's title and overarching theme?

The inspiration behind Save Me was to create a sound and atmosphere that is melodic, sentimental, and danceable, combining pianos, synthesizers, and emotive, exciting vocals. The album was named Save Me after its main track, which shares the same name and happens to be my favorite track on the album.

What inspired your journey into music production, and what led you to explore genre-bending styles?

My father was my greatest inspiration, motivation, and support in building my path toward music. He was the one who nurtured my passion for music and encouraged me to improve every day in my musical projects. Since I was a child, he introduced me to great artists from the electronic scene such as John Digweed, Sasha, &ME, and Frank Wiedemann, among others, but these are the ones who had the most significant impact on shaping my path and musical style.

What led me to combine different music styles was having a broad perspective on music and being very selective with sounds from various genres. This allowed me to identify which sounds truly caught my attention and helped define me musically.

Mexico has a vibrant music scene. How has your cultural background influenced your sound?

Mexico has a uniquely captivating, music-loving, and rhythmic energy. My culture has influenced my music in a way that seeks to capture that energy Mexican artists convey—the ability to make people dance while simultaneously evoking feelings of joy and melancholy.

Each track on Save Me seems to have a unique emotional and sonic identity. Could you walk us through some of the creative processes behind crafting this album?

Each of the songs on the album was created in my home studio, where I let my imagination flow and experimented with my synthesizer and instruments. I captured everything in Ableton, starting with 8-bar loops and gradually building a story with each track as it developed in the arrangement. I refined the sounds and crafted an atmosphere that is both emotional and rhythmic.

How do you decide when a track feels "complete," especially given your focus on deep emotional resonance?

For me, a track is complete when I like every part of it, when I enjoy every sound, and when each instrument has a professional-quality feel.

Save Me is the first-ever album on Marginalia. What does this milestone mean to you, and how did the collaboration come about?

It is a great honor for me that ELIF and the Marginalia team placed so much trust in my music. I feel incredibly grateful for the immense support they have given me and for the opportunity to be part of the Marginalia family.

This collaboration came about from a simple email with two songs that I sent to ELIF I was only hoping for some support for the track, but I never imagined it would turn into something as big as an album. I am deeply grateful to Marginalia and ELIF for this incredible opportunity.

You’ve also released on Tortuga and performed at some of Europe’s finest clubs. What have been some highlights of your career so far?

I consider my biggest achievements so far to be my release on Tortuga, receiving support from artists I admire, and having some of them already know and enjoy my music. Signing with Marginalia is my greatest accomplishment—it’s a dream come true.

With Save Me marking a major milestone, what’s next for Liminal in terms of future projects or live performances?

Next year, new tracks will be released on amazing labels such as Innuendo, Ritmo Futuro, Unreleased, Tailored Records, and more. As for shows, there will be several events across Europe next year, so stay tuned!

What advice would you give to emerging producers looking to carve out their own unique sound?

Don’t be afraid to experiment with different sounds or genres. Broaden your perception of music, take elements from each genre you enjoy, and then blend it all together to find a unique sound and identity in your music.

How do you see the electronic music scene evolving, particularly for genre-defying artists like yourself?

For me, the electronic music scene is at its peak because every day brings different and interesting proposals. There are many great artists around the world with incredible talent who aren’t afraid to innovate. In my opinion, the scene is evolving spectacularly, as many artists aim for their songs to convey not just sounds but also a story.
