From The Mediterranean to the world: the journey of JNJS

Some careers are built in silence, through consistency, discipline, and unshakable faith in the process. JNJS’s path is one of them. From Ibiza, the duo has forged their way not only as DJs but as producers with a solid identity, one shaped by years of dedication and the ability to evolve without losing authenticity.

JNJS doesn’t embody the fleeting promise of a summer. They represent the maturity of a project that grew between local booths, small studios, and the patience of those who understand that electronic music is a marathon, not a sprint.

Today, their sound travels with them across five continents. From Europe’s most intimate clubs to the most vibrant festivals in Latin America and Asia, their presence reflects a new generation of Ibizan artists who know that international reach isn’t conquered by luck, but by coherence, study, and long-term vision.

Their story isn’t about two names finding fame, but two musicians finding purpose. From their first vinyls at DC10 to the global pulse of Yoyaku, JNJS have turned their music into a passport and their island into a flag. They represent the elegance of minimal, the essence of groove, and the truth of those who still believe the future of electronic music is written track by track, with no shortcuts.

“We’re very happy. It’s a month full of beautiful shows, in very different countries, and it makes us really proud.”

Their tone is calm, grateful, and assured. This new season doesn’t mark a rupture but the natural evolution of a process that has been unfolding for years.

“Last year we already had international gigs, we played in Australia, Ecuador, Colombia, Italy, Malta, Zanzibar, and other countries. But this upcoming season looks amazing in terms of international shows, and we’re really grateful to the promoters who trust us, and of course to Interwave, our agency, for helping us make it happen. Many of these dates are part of Yoyaku’s World Tour.”

Wherever they go, JNJS carry with them the emotional warmth that defines their sound.

“When we travel, we always receive so much warmth, passion, dancing, affection… Playing so far from home and seeing the crowd connect with our music is a huge inspiration to create new tracks.”

For them, this global moment doesn’t erase their roots; it amplifies them.

“We see it as a natural step, an evolution, one of the many stages you have to go through in this industry. The right way is to burn through each phase one by one. Every chapter is special and marks a before and after. It’s about keeping the hard work going so you never go backwards, always learning and enjoying the journey.”


The Reverse Journey

While many artists go to Ibiza in search of consecration, JNJS did the opposite. From the island itself, they built a career that now transcends borders.

“We’ve tried to base our career on production, working on our international image rather than the local one, since today, thanks to social media and music platforms, people can discover you anywhere in the world. Of course, being in Ibiza helps you meet a lot of people, but to get the kind of opportunities you want, you need a solid track record, something we’ve worked on since day one. International DJs who come to Ibiza already have established careers, selling records and touring with a loyal audience. For those of us who start here, it’s hard to stand out among already consolidated artists.”

Still, Ibiza offers a unique advantage few places can match.

“On the island, you have the chance to make a living doing something related to the electronic music industry, something that would be unthinkable elsewhere. It’s not a bad plan to dedicate yourself to what you love while continuing to learn and grow.”

That mix of patience and perseverance eventually opened doors as iconic as Circoloco.

“By meeting people from the industry here, some started to take an interest when they saw us playing abroad and our tracks being played by major artists. And when that moment arrived, we were ready, thanks to years of work in the studio.”


Circoloco, DC10, and Dreams Fulfilled

For JNJS, being part of Circoloco and performing at DC10 is a dream come true. In that legendary temple of the underground, where generations, styles, and legends intersect, the duo has found not just recognition but a reaffirmation of their artistic identity.

“A dream. We’re still not used to it. Playing in those rooms, surrounded by those artists, is a wish fulfilled. Eternal gratitude for trusting us.”

The experience has also transformed them artistically.

“Playing for Circoloco teaches you a lot. It’s a huge responsibility, especially when you share the decks with such incredible artists. It’s been an enormous learning experience.”

That same mindset extends to their relationship with Interwave, the agency that marked a turning point in their career. For JNJS, working with Tracy, Marlon, and the team is not just a professional alliance but a human one, built on trust and shared vision.

“Interwave, Tracy, and the whole team have always been one of those reference agencies for us. We’ve seen a huge evolution in our project since joining them. Working with our main agent, Marlon, is super smooth and easy. We achieve our goals much faster, and having a strong team behind us makes all the difference.”

More than a professional relationship, they live it like a family.

“We feel part of a big family, beyond the professional side, there’s real friendship and trust. Having a good agency allows you to focus on what really matters: the music.”

That same philosophy of collaboration extends to their work with international collectives.

“Collaborating with collectives and brands like Why?Not, Slapfunk, Les Enfants, Jazzy, or Supervibe means everything. These are projects created by people who truly care about good music. It’s a pleasure that they keep inviting us.”

Their connection with Yoyaku, however, holds a special place.

“We were part of their showcase at Amnesia and have joined them in Malta and Akasha as well. Now more events are coming in different places. We feel super lucky. Yoyaku has always been a reference for us, a symbol of avant-garde within our sound. Being part of their tour completes us as artists.”


Two Heads, One Pulse

On stage and in the studio, JNJS move with a shared rhythm. Their chemistry isn’t a coincidence, it’s the result of years of intuition, mutual respect, and a sonic pursuit guided by two minds united by one vision.

“We started as a b2b, but not anymore. Over time we’ve developed a bond that keeps us moving in the same direction. Often we pick the same records, or one of us plays a track the other had ready. It’s a great feeling, though we also like to surprise each other to create special energy on the dancefloor.”

This connection has grown into an artistic symbiosis that transcends the booth, a creative relationship built on trust, risk, and the drive to push each other into new territories. That connection also carries into the studio.

“We’re very different and have distinct working dynamics, which helps us complement each other and reach the sound we truly want. It’s also great to have someone who pulls you out of dead ends.”

“It’s not about specific moments; it’s something continuous. Musically we’ve influenced each other to the point of creating a shared style. Personally, it’s a relationship based on support and motivation to keep moving forward.”

Today, artists like Raresh, Magda, Enzo Siragussa, Traumer, and Priku play their tracks at festivals and clubs around the world.

“That’s what gives meaning to everything. When we released our first productions and saw videos of Nu Zau or Arapu playing them, or De La Swing at Elrow XXL, or Tania Vulcano at DC10, or Traumer at Sunwaves… there’s no way to explain it. Having such amazing artists choose your music among so much out there is an indescribable kind of gratitude.”

Yet, that recognition hasn’t changed their focus.

“It doesn’t change anything, it just gives you more motivation. Even if one day no one plays your music, that shouldn’t change your path. You have to stay consistent. Every track we make comes from a clear idea and emotion. That’s the best way to communicate what we want to share.”


Velvet: Their Own Home

Since its conception, Velvet has functioned as a space to celebrate diversity within electronic music. What began as a series of showcases evolved into a label with a clear identity yet a free spirit, a home where house, minimal, tech house, and deep house coexist. Its philosophy is simple: release only what they would play themselves, guided by intuition and the emotion of the moment.

“After releasing music on labels we admired, we felt ready to start our own, not just for our productions, but to support artists we respect, both established and emerging.”

The label, club-oriented at its core, refuses to be boxed into a single sound.

“We move from house to minimal, passing through tech house and deep. We pick tracks we’d play in our own sets.”

Interestingly, Velvet started as an event series before becoming a label.

“The first event was on September 28, 2022, together with Game Over. Then we collaborated with Jazzy, Into the Woods, and The Unknown. We’ve brought Velvet to Eden Ibiza, Fabrik London, and Les Enfants in Barcelona. We’re really happy with the journey so far, and what’s coming looks amazing.”

And what’s coming truly looks bright.

“We just released an EP on Pirka, Only Vinyl format, which sold out in just three weeks. Up next, another one on Politics of Dancing, plus music coming on labels like After Caposile, Monday Morning, and of course Velvet itself. After this crazy October, with shows across four continents, Moga Festival in Morocco, Maushi Festival in India, Casona de Camana in Peru, and several in Europe, we have our regular trip to Zurich for Friedas Buxe, our first Caposile, and upcoming dates in London, Zanzibar, and America. We’re very grateful. Our only focus is to enjoy the journey, do what we love, and share our music.”
