Bill Klatt on redefining livestream culture with clarity, community and DJ-first platform, LFG.TV

Set to launch worldwide in September, LFG.TV is a bold new live-streaming platform designed exclusively for the global dance music community. Built by veteran DJs, developers and industry experts, it aims to create a clutter-free, music-first space unlike the chaotic, one-size-fits-all environments that dominate streaming today. At its core, LFG.TV is about “honouring and elevating DJ culture,” says Bill Klatt, Director of Strategic Partnerships.
When asked about the cultural or industry gap LFG.TV seeks to address, Klatt is candid: “The truth is, most platforms have failed the DJ. They weren’t built with DJ culture in mind. They’ve either forced us to fit into formats that don’t work for our craft, or ignored the ecosystem entirely. DJs are often treated as background noise rather than the driving force behind discovery, community, and culture.”
This lack of respect inspired the team to build a platform that centres DJs as cultural engines. “There was no purpose-built space where DJs could perform, connect with fans, showcase music and support the producers and labels behind the records, all in one place. We knew it was time for a platform that actually respects the role DJs play in shaping the sound of now,” Klatt explains.
Balancing creator focus with scalable technology was key. “That balance is the heart of what we’re building,” Klatt says. “LFG.TV starts from the premise that DJs are more than just content creators. They’re cultural engines, tastemakers, and community builders.” The platform is “not forcing DJs to conform to livestream models built for gamers or influencers.” Instead, it offers an interface “designed around the flow of a set—from how you go live, to how tracks are ID’d in real time, to how the visual experience supports the music, not distracts from it.”
Real-time track identification is one of LFG.TV’s unique features. Klatt says, “We built real-time track identification not just for fans, but to ensure producers and labels are properly tracked, credited, and even monetized. That turns a DJ set into a revenue-generating engine for the whole ecosystem.”
Post-launch, LFG.TV plans to build deep partnerships with labels, artists, tech platforms and lifestyle brands. “Our north star is to become a core part of DJ culture moving forward—not just another platform DJs use, but something they rely on,” Klatt says. Collaborations with labels like Toolroom and Defected and integration with music rights management platforms are designed to protect creators and enhance fan experience.
Klatt also teases what really sets LFG.TV apart. “Imagine watching a DJ set and being able to identify a track in real time, not by guessing in the comments or waiting for a track list, but with actual track IDs appearing live on screen. From there, you can instantly add that track to your streaming playlist or buy the track, or even support the artist or label directly, all without leaving the experience.”
As music discovery evolves, LFG.TV aims to blend live performance energy with digital accessibility. “Our goal is to be where dance music lives now, not just in clubs or festivals, but in the hands and feeds of fans 24/7,” Klatt says.
Drawing on decades of experience working with legends like Todd Terry and Kenny Dope, Klatt applies a philosophy of “authenticity and access.” He believes giving creators the right tools and respect will allow LFG.TV to thrive. “If by March we’re seeing DJs get booked off their LFG sets, fans building playlists from what they saw last night, and labels telling us they’re seeing a lift because their track ID’d on someone’s stream, that’s the kind of cultural flywheel we’re after.”
